Bloco Fogo is a community samba band playing Brazilian, Cuban and African rhythms. We are one band with two halves - one in Tunbridge Wells and one in Maidstone.

Bloco Fogo includes local people of all ages from a variety of backgrounds and cultures who learn, practise and perform samba music, within a framework of professional support.

We give performances at local events and venues within Kent and at national and international events where our drummers combine their amazing energy and visual impact to create a riot of colour, movement and infectious rhythms.

We welcome new members and will be running our popular beginner workshops again later this year. However, in the meantime, people can come to our main band practice sessions and have a go at playing. No previous experience of drumming is needed and we provide all instruments and plenty of friendly support.

Our musical directors also lead samba drumming workshops for schools and businesses across the South and help them to set up their own drumming groups.
