James Lord Art

James Lord was born and went to school on the Isle of Wight. College education was from Bournemouth Art College and London College of Printing where he gained a BA Hons degree. Employed firstly by Moore Wilson Design then LIFFE James worked as a graphic designer in London for 10 years. Returning to the Island in 2002 James initially worked as a freelance designer whilst rennovating a 17th Century farmhouse near Gatcombe and in 2011 started a small design company, James Lord Design, in a converted barn.

Throughout his career James Lord has produced land and seascapes inspired by his travels by bike or by boat. Recent work captures those glimpses and views. They enjoy a moment in time and reflect the seasons with changing light and colours. The work has a screen printed style, bold block colours, line drawn details and batik like textures.
