Laurence Hobbs Orchids Ltd have been established in Sussex since 1987. Managing Director, Laurence Hobbs, gained an honours degree in plant biology before setting up business as an Orchid grower.

The nursery is situated close to junction 10 of the M23/M25 motorway ,near to Gatwick airport. The greenhouses have a fantastic variety of orchids on offer, many different species and hybrids are available including Phalaenopsis, Paphiopedilum, Dendrobium and Coelogyne. If you have been searching for a specific plant, we will endeavour to find it for you.





We are also the sole agents for Carter and Holmes USA – one of the top Cattleya nurseries in the world. Over a thousand plants are imported every year from large flowering plants to top special offer crosses; plants can be ordered from a colour list in the spring with the shipment arriving mid summer. Ordered plants can be dispatched bare-root or established in the nursery for a couple of months first to ensure the best quality plant possible.

The nursery is open by appointment Monday to Thursday. there are also several open weekends each year with discounts and free refreshments. Visits from societies are welcomed and the nursery can cater for both lunches and teas.

We also operate a mail order service; a colour Carter and Holmes catalogue and a black and white list are available on request. No order is too small and next day delivery is used wherever possible.
