The Department of Sport and Recreation is the sport service of the University of Portsmouth. Our team of sport enthusiasts delivers a programme of sport opportunities and fitness activities for beginners through to elite athletes.

The University of Portsmouth is committed to helping students, staff, and the wider community of all abilities to participate in sport and physical activity, helping to combine an active mind with an active body. This is why we positively promote active lifestyles through a range of great facilities and opportunities to keep fit and compete.

Our facilities include a 4 floor gym, 2 fitness studios, 2 indoor sports halls and 2 squash courts. A £1million full size 3G pitch, football, hockey and rugby pitches, netball, basketball and tennis courts and five-a-side astroturf pitches.

Check out our gym memberships which include use of our recently refurbished four floor gym, classes and racket sports. Plus provides a discount for any of our facilities, personal training and courses. Memberships are available to students, staff, associates and members of the community. Direct Debit memberships start from £14.99pm, annual memberships start from £130.
